Hi, I’m Jack — Founder of The Coddiwomple Club

I’m Jack, the founder of The Coddiwomple Club — though I can’t take all the credit.
The idea really began when my eldest son, George, suggested starting a hiking club for kids and making “cool hoodies” we could all wear.
From there, the snowball started rolling.

Making sure George and Toby grow up spending time outdoors has been important to me since long before they arrived.
I spent most of my twenties dodging anything that resembled a real job and instead exploring far‑flung places: the Himalaya, the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert, the Australian outback, the jungles of India and Nepal, Iceland, Tunisia… the list goes on.
I’m a qualified mountain leader, a conservation educator, and someone who feels most at home on a trail.

Why The Coddiwomple Club Exists

There’s no two ways about it — having kids makes getting outdoors different.
And sometimes “different” looks a lot like “difficult”.
That’s exactly why The Coddiwomple Club exists: to welcome families of all shapes and sizes, encourage them to step off the beaten path, and show that adventure can look however it needs to.

Whether it’s a big day out or a muddy wander close to home, we want to make family adventure feel possible and joyful.

Beyond the adventures, we care deeply about the planet we explore.
That’s why our clothing is rooted in earth‑friendly materials and responsible production.
We’re working to reduce and offset our carbon emissions, and we plant trees for every order — a small but meaningful way to give back.
