The Coddiwomple Club – Modern Slavery & Ethical Labour Statement
The Coddiwomple Club exists to help families explore the outdoors with confidence — and we believe
that adventure should never come at the cost of someone else’s freedom, safety, or dignity.
Modern slavery, forced labour, child labour, and human trafficking have no place in our supply chain,
our products, or our values.
Our commitment
We are a small, purpose‑driven brand built on fairness, transparency, and respect for the people
who make our clothes. We are committed to working only with suppliers who share these values and who
can demonstrate that they actively prevent modern slavery and exploitative labour practices.
Our suppliers and standards
We work with carefully selected manufacturing partners, including GOTS‑certified factories, who are
required to meet high standards on:
- Freely chosen employment: No forced, bonded, or involuntary labour.
- No child labour: Workers must meet the legal minimum age for employment.
- Safe working conditions: A healthy, safe workplace with appropriate training and protection.
- Fair treatment: No harassment, abuse, or discrimination of any kind.
- Fair pay and hours: Wages and working hours in line with local laws and industry standards.
We expect our suppliers to comply with all applicable labour, health and safety, and human rights laws,
and to uphold the core conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Due diligence and ongoing checks
As a growing, small business, our approach is practical and honest. We do not own factories, so we rely
on strong relationships, clear expectations, and third‑party certifications where available.
- Supplier selection: We prioritise suppliers with recognised certifications and clear social and environmental policies.
- Information and documentation: We request and review relevant policies, certifications, and audit reports where possible.
- Regular communication: We maintain ongoing dialogue with our suppliers about working conditions, capacity, and expectations.
Where we identify gaps or concerns, we will seek clarification, request improvements, or, if necessary,
review and potentially end the relationship.
Zero tolerance for modern slavery
We have zero tolerance for modern slavery, forced labour, or human trafficking in any part of our
business or supply chain. If we become aware of a credible risk or incident:
- We will investigate promptly and, where appropriate, in collaboration with the supplier and relevant experts.
- We will prioritise the safety and rights of affected workers.
- We will require corrective action and may suspend or terminate the relationship if issues are not resolved.
Transparency and continuous improvement
We know that supply chains are complex and that no brand can claim to have “finished” this work.
As Coddiwomple Club grows, we aim to strengthen our due diligence, improve traceability, and share more
detail about our suppliers and the steps we are taking to protect workers’ rights.
This statement reflects our current size and capacity, and our commitment to doing better as we grow.
We will review and update it periodically to ensure it remains accurate and meaningful.
